Meet the girl behind Girl in Motion

Hello, I am Nat! Founder of Girl in Motion.

With roots in Argentina and over two decades of experience living in New Zealand, I deeply understand the challenges faced by migrant women. I believe that with the right mindset, support, and resources, any woman can start her own business. However, I also recognise that we don’t all start from the same place, and this is especially true for us, migrants.

Starting anew in a different country presents unique hurdles, and it can be more challenging for us to chase the dream of business ownership. That’s why I’ve started Girl in Motion. My mission is to break down barriers, empowering more migrant and former refugee women to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams.

What we do

At Girl in Motion, we are committed to empowering migrant and former refugee women through a variety of impactful programs and initiatives:

  • Digital Platform: We are creating something totally unique—disrupting the way we offer business support to migrant women in New Zealand. We're currently researching and building the prototype, and we'll be sharing feedback with the wider community during the second half of 2026.
  • Community: We create safe, supportive communities where migrant and former refugee women can connect, share experiences, and build confidence.
  • Events: In-person and online gatherings to learn, network, and build real relationships.
  • Speaking Engagements: Our founder speaks at events, sharing insights on entrepreneurship, resilience, and the importance of empowering women in the community.
  • Storytelling: We believe the most powerful learning comes from real stories. That's why we're launching Her Migrant Story—a storytelling series featuring migrant women entrepreneurs sharing their authentic journeys.
  • Collaboration with Nonprofits: We actively collaborate with other nonprofit organisations to extend our reach and impact. By partnering with like-minded groups, we can offer a more comprehensive support system for women, enhancing resources and opportunities.

Hi, I’m Nat, founder of Girl in Motion.

With roots in Argentina and over two decades in New Zealand, I’ve experienced the migrant journey firsthand. And I’ve seen something incredible: migrant women are some of the most talented, resilient, and visionary entrepreneurs out there.

Girl in Motion is born from my belief that as migrant women we deserve more. More support. More community. More celebration.

As a mother, I’m passionate about creating opportunities that empower women today—because that builds a brighter, more vibrant future for our children and for Aotearoa. When migrant women thrive, we all thrive.
